Sea to Summit Track

Track building

The Sea to Summit track was marked out by a committed group of volunteers in 2012. The track runs from the bottom of Richmond Hill Road to the top of Richmond Hill via the east side of Clifton Hill.

The current status of the track is unclear. After making a deputation to the Hagley Ferrymead Community Board at which it was agreed that the the next step in making the track official would be referring the matter to the Council's Transport and Greenspace Unit.

Of course this doesn't mean that you can't walk up the track - just that it doesn't officially exist as a 'walking track' - yet.

Documents

The original Hagley Ferrymead Community Board deputation.

At the last Community Board meeting it was agreed that the track will be left to grow over and any flagging removed until the community has had further opportunity to discuss the pros and cons of the proposal under the Port Hills Master Plan process during this year and 2014.
