CanCERN Newsletter #13
Instead of a quote this week we would like to remind everyone to ASK if you are unsure. Don't feel you have to wait and work it all out by yourself or think that by asking or talking to people that you are declaring your intentions. You are allowed to, question, think, change your mind and question again without signing anything. Talk to people at the Earthquake Assistance Centre. Talk to your insurer, your bank, a lawyer, whomever and get your questions answered or state your case. Oh and of course remember whoever you are talking to that they are people too. Being nice can help.

CERA - LAND AVAILABILITY
In the next few weeks CERA expects to make announcements about land which will be made available within the next 12 months.
The consultation period ends 30 October. There are some good tools on this webpage that will help you run small group meetings if you are interested in understanding and commenting on the strategy that way. Alternatively, you can comment individually online or via hard copy sent to residents.
Please take precautionary measures when dealing with silt. The dust can exacerbate respiratory issues and little is known at this stage about how long the bacteria caused from sewerage stays in the silt that has not been exposed to the UV. It is sensible to wear gloves and a mask and take care to wash well after handling silt. Gardeners take care.
